Danielle Lauren

Danielle Lauren has been a writer as long as she can remember. From tiny books that fit inside matchboxes to full-length novels, she has always found joy in creating fantastical tales. As long as there is magic involved, there’s a story to be told.

She lives in a small town in England with her husband, two wild boys, and one lazy greyhound.

As well as writing them, Danielle devours fantasy stories in every form, while subsisting mainly on dark chocolate and green tea.

When not writing, she can be found bouldering, reading, cozy gaming, and watching Japanese anime and medical dramas.

She self-published the Spiritchild duology in 2022.

The Fates Of Aos duology was completed in 2025.

The Heart And Soul Of Aos

The auras of Aos have been thrown out of balance by the overuse of magic. Of all magic users, the illustrious Magicians Council of Rihurr are the worst offenders, using stolen pieces of a moon to boost their power. And they will stop at nothing to cover it up.

But unless the balance is redressed, the Rise and Fall are on course to swallow the world of Aos whole, until there is nothing left but mist and stars.

The Daughters of the Moon are through with waiting, and as they prepare to take matters into their own hands, Ana finds something she is desperate to protect.

Armed with a face to blame for her brother’s death, Dominique is ready to confront the Council head on, and Luke’s new friends have an unexpected ally that could tip the odds in their favour.

Reeling from the truth, Theobald must decide which is more important: the esteemed colleagues he trusted for so long, or the research he’s nurtured his entire career?

Aos is on the brink of catastrophe with no one poised to save it, and it has fallen to their unlikely party to restore the balance, before time runs out.

For everyone.

The Rise And Fall Of Aos

Every world knows the laws of balance.
Push and pull. Ebb and flow.
Rise and Fall.

But the balance of Aos has begun to change…

The Fall pulls down ships and their crews faster than they can be recovered, Dominique’s brother among them.
The Rise pushes a wall of water slowly but surely towards the prosperous city of Rihurr, and Theobald is the only one who notices.
The oceans are unpredictable and perilous, forcing pirates onto land and driving Luke far from home.
And in the middle of it all, the Daughters of the Moons look for answers, sweeping Ana up in their wake.

For better or worse, their destinies align.
The fate of Aos hangs on a knife edge, and they are all that stands between it and disaster.
They must travel further than they’ve ever ventured before to answer one question:
In a world of balance and song, what — or who — is tipping the scales?

Spiritchild

“A vividly written fantasy that touches on philosophy and environmentalism.”

Kirkus Reviews

Beyond the veil, the spirit realm connects all living things together. The ocean to the sky. The rain to the ground. The air, and the trees.

But there is a darkness bleeding through the veil, tearing spiritlife out by the roots, leaving a lifeless void in its wake. The seasons have stopped turning, life withers where it should flourish, and vicious raiders prowl the lands.

And in the heart of the darkness, a mad, broken god crouches, playing puppet master with the human race.

Fae is a gifted healer, and the only human in the elven tree-city of Arolynos. Brought to Arolynos as a young orphan, she remembers nothing of her life beforehand, but she has felt the eyes of the spirits her whole life. Never before have they deigned to speak to her.

Until the day the trees scream.

The spirits are dying, and the world is dying with them.

Gifted with a seed of power by the spirits themselves, Fae is the only one who can save them.

She alone must venture into the darkness.
To defeat a broken god.

Before the natural order collapses completely.

By Danielle Lauren

Earthchild

The highly anticipated sequel to Spiritchild.

A year after the battle to save the Spirit Realm and restore the natural order, Throldon is finally rebuilding. But while everyone else moves on with their lives, Fae remains trapped in the day she gave her powers — and her life — to defeat a broken god.

When the fledgling Council of the Races receives news that threatens their fragile peace, and Fae finds herself surrounded by strangers, she must find a way to reclaim her magic, or risk losing everything… and more.

Far to the south, deep in the bowels of the Brotherhood’s Sanctum, Jade’s life is ruled by blood. Hers, and that of the others held captive there. When the Brotherhood’s true plans are revealed, she must do whatever it takes to free them all. Even if it kills her.

An army marches. The earth trembles. And they are all running out of time.
